Lifeguards and Qualified First Aiders

All the first aiders are volunteers and members of the Swimming Club. Any member (over 18 years) is more than welcome to train with us as a first aider. The training sessions take place as needed, usually during the Autumn term and run once a week (usually on a Tuesday evening) for four weeks

The course is taught by an experienced trainer who delivers the material  in a way that ensures that the appropriate response will become  second nature to all participants. There is no exam – participation in at least three sessions of the course is the only requirement. Once qualified, all first aiders will be allocated a small number of sessions in which to act as Duty Officer throughout the year

The skills you learn as a first aider will not only enable you to act as a Duty Officer for the club, but it will also give you invaluable knowledge to save a life or minimise injury to family, friends and members of your community. There’s always room for a new first aider to join our friendly team – if you are interested, then  get in touch

Each appropriately qualified first aider adult member will be required to perform at least one duty per quarter, which entails attending one family swim session to support the Lifeguard
